MEET OUR FOUNDER
Taysue Morris
Taysue Morris is a first-generation Liberian-American born and raised in Montgomery County Maryland. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She received her Bachelor's degree in Family Science from Towson University and Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision at The George Washington University.
Taysue is a member of the Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International (CSI) for both The George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University. She is also the proud author of her children’s book, Daughter of Diversity.
BACKGROUND
Taysue Morris
Taysue holds a unique and diverse lived reality that has allowed her to see value in both painful and joyful life events. She uses her various identities and experiences from multiple settings she has worked within to help advocate and serve her clients.
Taysue is influenced by her own experiences in therapy to start the journey as a therapist and has worked to dismantle the stigma and negative perceptions held within culturally diverse communities. Her focus has been on working with the underrepresented communities.
She takes a holistic approach in therapy, focusing on the whole person. Utilizing this therapeutic modality, Taysue integrates spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional forms of well-being, to help her clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves on all these levels.
